This Week in Science (Carrying Capacity and Relationships)

  • Paragraph 1: What did you DO this week in science?
This week in science my 9th grade class mates and i learned about animal relationships. We also played a game that i believe my science teachers made up called "oh deer". Which is a game where an entire class starts off by splitting in to two groups and one half plays the part of a deer and the other half plays the part of ether food water or shelter for food.So they make a body jesture to let the 'deers" know what need they are playing.

so this week in science i learned about Mutualism ( +/+ )
Commensalism  (+/0)   Prarsiltism ( +/- ) the symbols nexts to the word are kinda how you know what they mean for example Mutualism (+/+) ++ means they are both getting something in the relationships and we learned about carry and capacity and we learned alot.

Fantasy Habitat illustration ;)

In science class this week i was told to chooses a exotic animal. I made a list of three exotic animals that i wanted and ended up choosing an elephant because at the moment i had many questions about it that i wanted to know the answer to.
Day 2 in this week we had to get more information about our animal but this time we has specific things to find out about our animal like the type of foods it eats three biotic &am biotic that's are around the creature and last just three facts about it i put that an elephants sleeps standing , when its old can be brong down by a lion or tiger depending which type of elephant (Asian & African ) and always stomps.

Now i know how an elephant sleeps and how big they are a baby elephant is about 3OO pounds and i learned what abiotic and biotic is like biotic is living abiotic is non living and i learned what abiotic/biotic factors lives around an elephants.

"This Week in Science: Energy Transfer"

This week in science we made a energy pyramid of what our fantasy animal and found out what foods they eat and how the energy from the sun helps the plants grow which makes the sun a producer. The plants also producers because they give energy to primary consumer like for example an elephant is a primary consumer because it eats grass but a penguin is not a primary consumer because it eats something that eats something El's that basically what we did this week in science.

so we learned 5 new words in science ; producer, primary consumer, secondary consumer, tertiary consumer, omnivore, herbivore, carnivore)
a producer is something that gives energy & could also be plants because plants get energy from the sun and that's how they get full. a primary consumer is the next curter to eat from a producer like my animal is a primary consumer because it eats plants. The other word was secondary consumer which is a animal that would eat a primary consumer. and it gets higher and higher from secondary consumer to tertiary consumer. then omnivore is if you eat plants and meat - herbivore is just if you eat plants and carnivore is just if you eat meat is pretty simple and helped me learn everything i know now about an elephant.
